Bay legend to manage FA Youth Cup side

Whitley Bay have been drawn at home to South Shields in the Preliminary Round of the FA Youth Cup, and a very familiar face returns to Hillheads as manager of the Under 18 side.

In the Bay dugout to take charge of the side for the tie on Wednesday 31st August will be three time FA Vase winner Paul Robinson. The midfielder who played more than 300 games and scored over 80 goals for the club, was a legend and fans favourite in his time on the pitch at Hillheads, and while his playing career is continuing at Northern League rivals Ashington, he is now also involved in coaching.

The youngsters who will be playing represent Pro Direct Academy Newcastle who have linked up with Whitley Bay to give the players on the programme the opportunity to play in the prestigious FA Youth Cup.  Paul says he is looking forward to returning to the scene of so many great performances but knows his side will face a very tough task against the Mariners.

It would be good to see a big turn out of fans at the game to give Robbo's youngsters as much support as possible!

Kick off is at 7.00pm and admission is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
