Whitley have been drawn at home to Billingham Synthonia in the First Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase. The game will be played on Saturday 22nd October. Whitley were first out of the hat in today's draw and the tie is a rematch from last season when Synners caused an upset, winning 4-3 at Hillheads in the First Qualifying Round. The sides have met twice previously in the competition, with Whitley coming out on top both times, firstly as holders in 2002 when Ian Chandler scored the only goal of the game at Central Avenue. In 2017 Whitley needed a replay which they won 3-0 after a 2-2 draw on Teesside at the 2nd Qualifying Round stage.
Synthonia are currently 8th in the Northern League Second Division, with eight wins and six defeats from their 14 league games to date.
