Bay part company with Forrest

Whitley Bay Football Club have today parted company with manager Derek Forrest by mutual consent due to poor results on the pitch.  Chairman Paul McIlduff thanked Derek for his tremendous efforts and the hard work he has put in during his time as manager and previously as joint manager at the Club.

Derek acknowledged that results especially in recent weeks had not been good enough, “Unfortunately things haven’t worked out as well as I would have liked. Results haven’t been good enough.”

He added “I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity they’ve given me; all the members of the Board for their support, together with the coaching staff and all the other people who’ve done so much to help, in particular matchday secretary Rob York and press officer Julian Tyley.

“The fans give their club fantastic support and I’d like to wish them and the club all the very best for the future.”

The process of appointing a new manager is now underway and it is hoped to make an appointment as soon as possible.  Those interested in applying for the position should contact Paul McIlduff on 07967 728562
