Whitley Bay manager Nick Gray has announced two new members of his management team. Liam McIvor, until recently manager at Newcastle Blue Star, has been brought in a assistant manager in place of Stu Brightwell, who was unable to commit sufficient time to the role alongside his work at Sunderland Academy. Meanwhile Andy Wright has been appointed First Team Coach. Commenting on the new arrivals, Gray explained “Obviously with Stu being unable to commit, it's really difficult during the season to get top staff in but due to circumstances I'm very lucky to get two excellent management staff in. They both have an outstanding pedigree and we're all singing off the same hymn sheet.”
The club has also made two new signings, Zack Bewley and Reece Havelock-Brown. Nick told us “Zac and Reece are two excellent signings who I'm delighted to get on board. It has been a tough season for all the players and with these two being the 48th and 49th players respectively used this season, it shows one of the main problems for the club. It is really difficult to attract good players to the club during the season as all those players are playing at other clubs, but when you get a chance to bring players in who will enhance the squad and be part of the future you have to take those opportunities. Reece is a very calm collective midfielder who has a great engine and good awareness. Zack will be a player who the supporters will love because he's a fast forward who's good on the eye and has very quick feet. We know what we need to achieve this season and once we have done that, we can all start preparing for next season.”
