We were sorry to learn that Richard Reeves, a long time volunteer at Whitley Bay Football Club and most notably kit man, passed away on Saturday 7th December.
For many years, he diligently washed the kit after games, a role which earned him the affectionate title 'Head of Laundry' among his friends at the club.
Richard loved Whitley Bay Football Club and over the years he carried out numerous voluntary roles around the ground.
When he retired from these roles for health reasons in 2019, the Directors acknowledged his contribution to the Club with a framed Certificate of Appreciation, which he proudly kept on display in his nursing home.

We would like to pass on our condolences to Richard's family at this sad time.
Richard's funeral will take place at Whitley Bay Crematorium on Friday 3rd January at 1.30pm.
