Whitley Bay have been drawn at home to Blyth Town in the First Round of the Newcastle Flooring Northumberland Senior Cup. The sides met at South Newsham at the same stage of last year's competition when Whitley ran out 3-0 winners but a tougher contest can be expected this season with Blyth in fine form at the top of the Second Division table.
There are six First Round ties with last year's finalists Blyth Spartans and Morpeth Town both handed a bye to the next round.
The dates of the ties have yet to be decided but the games are scheduled to be played before 14 October.
