Whitley Bay have been drawn at home to Bottesford Town from Scunthorpe in the First Round of the FA Vase. The game will be played on Saturday 21st October and it will be the first time that the sides have met.
To reach this stage of the competition, the Lincolnshire team beat Rossington Main 2-1 on Saturday in the 2nd Qualifying Round having won on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the previous round.
Bottesford play in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division but have had a difficult start to the season, sitting at the foot of the table with just one point from their 8 games to date, with their three victories all coming in cup ties.
*Whitley's Northern League game at home to Boro Rangers, which was originally scheduled for 21st October, will now be played on Saturday 2nd March.
