We are pleased to announce that Michael Hall is joining Whitley Bay from Northern Premier East Division side Dunston UTS. An experienced central defender, Michael previously played for Nick Gray at Morpeth Town where he was a member of their 2016 FA Vase winning side. After moving to Dunston, he played a key role in their Northern League Championship winning team in 2018/19.
Nick Gray spoke enthusiastically about his first signing of the summer. “I’m delighted to be working with Michael again. He’s continued to improve to be an outstanding player and leader and exactly what this club needs. He will set good examples both on and off the pitch and I know he will leave everything on the pitch and has come to do his best to win things.”
Michael told us “I really enjoyed my time at Dunston but having decided to leave because of family commitments, Whitley Bay was the obvious choice for me. I live locally and have family connections with the area. I played for the Whitley Bay Under 16 Academy team. I’ve also worked with Nick in the past and am looking forward to doing so again. As a youngster I travelled to see the club win the 2002 FA Vase at Villa Park and I’d love to see us have a good run in the Vase this season. In the League I’m aiming for us to have a strong season with a top three finish. I’m really looking forward to getting started!”
