BISHOP AUCKLAND 4 WHITLEY BAY 0

A poor performance by Whitley ended in a 4-0 defeat at Bishop Auckland. A dreadful start saw them go a goal down after just 30 seconds. They fought back and were twice denied by the woodwork but a second goal just before half time effectively ended Whitley’s resistance and two more goals in the second half rounded off a dismal afternoon. The Reserves had a much better day, winning 6-1 away to FC United of Newcastle. The Bay scorers were Thomas Kalthoeber (2) Trueman Hub, Connor Campbell, Jack Cooper and Alan Ewart.

Whitley’s next game is at home to Morpeth Town tomorrow (Monday) evening while the Reserves are also playing on Monday, away to Wallington.
