The latest of several new signings made their debuts on Saturday, both scoring in the 6-0 victory over Birtley Town.
Liam Beeston caught the attention of fans with a spectacular lob from distance that flew over the keeper and dipped into the net for the second goal. Liam is an experienced midfielder, well known to the management team, having served alongside Barry Rizza in the Army.
Chris Luaba came off the bench with just six minutes of normal time remaining but still had time to get on the scoresheet on his debut. Chris, an attacking player was signed 24 hours before the game having recovered from a lengthy injury. Last season he was playing in the Northern Premier League for Newton Aycliffe.
Mackenzie Sharpe who returned to Hillheads in September is a centre forward with experience at a number of Northern League clubs, having been a member of the Bay reserves side earlier in his career. Alfa Djalo is another attacking player who made his debut on the victory at Carlisle City and has provided pace and skill down the right wing. He has joined the club on a dual registration with Northern Premier League side Hebburn Town.
Also arriving at Hillheads is Finlay Parker, a young midfielder who was at Washington last season but has previously featured at a higher level with North Ferriby. His appearances so far have mostly been as a substitute.
With several additions to the squad, there have, perhaps inevitably been departures. Jos Storr, who was at Hillheads last season, has moved to Second Division Redcar Town, while Michael Baxter has been released after a short spell at the club.
