There are still five games of the current season to be played, with promotion remaining a possibility, but already the Club is planning for the 2023/24 campaign.
Both Cameron Brewis and Harvey Neary have signed extended contracts which will keep them at Hillheads until the end of next season. In addition, having brought about a dramatic improvement in fortunes in their first full season, manager Nick Gray and assistant Liam McIvor have confirmed that they will be remaining at the helm, news that will delight everyone associated with Whitley Bay FC.
Nick told us "When I took over this club 14 months ago I realised it was a huge task. Since then the players have all been terrific and each one since that day have given their all and played a huge part in pushing the club in the right direction. Liam has been a fantastic addition who I couldn't thank enough and appreciate more, not forgetting Kev Chapman the physio who has nursed the players fabulously all season. The club is going in the right direction and I look forward to helping continue take the club in the right direction next season. Harvey and Cameron are just the start of plans in place for next season which I'm delighted to secure with more being agreed in the coming weeks. In my opinion there are a lot of things still to improve on and off the pitch and tough but honest decisions will have to be made to progress the club, which I think would hugely benefit the club."
