New arrivals at Hillheads

New Bay manager Jay Bates has been busy assembling his squad for the new season at Hillheads and there will be plenty of new faces in the side when the season opens at the end of July.

Tomorrow, Saturday sees player registrations open in the Northern League and among those about to put pen to paper for Whitley Bay is striker Callum Larmouth who was a prolific scorer at West Allotment Celtic and also had a spell at North Shields.

He is just the first of many players who will be announced over the coming days.

He told us "I’m very happy to have a new challenge and such a great club, I’m hoping to carry on the way I left off which was scoring goals, as a forward that’s your job score as many goals as you can and I'm ready for the new challenge.

"Whitley is a really good football club and I know this as what they have achieved over the years and also playing against them, every time I’ve played against them it’s been a good end to end game including the FA Cup game 2 seasons ago in front of 700 fans, personally one of my favourite ever games I’ve played in, so I know what to expect and what the club requires. The one thing I’m excited for is playing in front of the Bay fans as they always have a good turn out and unreal support home and away."
