The Club has received the following statement from Martin Kelly:
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as a Director of Whitley Bay Football Club.
My decision is entirely due to work commitments and may I express my sincere appreciation to yourself (Paul) and the board for allowing me the opportunity to work alongside you.
To the many colleagues who I have had the pleasure to work with, thank you.
To Nicky, Liam, players and non playing staff, you reminded me of the value of hard work and working together as a team.
All the best,
Martin"
In response, Whitley Bay FC Chairman Paul McIlduff said that he was very sad to see Martin step down.
"He has been a fantastic addition to the Board and has done great work for the Club and also the Supporters Club. He will be sadly missed by all of us and we wish him all the very best for the future. He will always be welcome at Hillheads and we look forward to seeing him supporting the Club on the terraces when his commitments allow."
