West Allotment game called off – again!

This afternoon's game at home to West Allotment Celtic was postponed just after 2pm when the visitors had only eight players at Hillheads. They informed the match referee that they would not be able to fulfil the fixture and they left the ground.

All the Whitley Bay players, management and matchday volunteers were at the ground, and fans were beginning to arrive by the time the postponement was announced.

This comes just a week after the game away to Allotment was called off because they were unable to raise a team, but on that occasion the decision was made known late on the Friday evening.

To have this afternoon's game postponed just an hour before kick off was extremely disappointing and frustrating and we would like to apologise to those supporters who travelled to the game only to find it had been called off.

Around the time of the scheduled kick off, West Allotment put out a statement on social media saying that they would be resigning from the Ebac Northern League.

The Northern League will have to decide what happens next but it appears inevitable that all of West Allotment's results will be expunged which will obviously have an impact on the League table.

We will give further updates when we learn more, but in the meantime, we look forward to Tuesday evening when we welcome Marske United to Hillheads, kick off 7.45pm.

*A small number of seats remain available for the coach to Kendal next Saturday, leaving Hillheads at 11am. To book a seat email club@whitleybayfc.com or text 07745 904623  Any remaining seats can be booked at Tuesday night's game.
