Bay manager Jay Bates continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season with the signing of two exciting and talented young players.
Goalkeeper Mauro Asikaogu, formerly at Park View Academy and Gateshead FC, has already demonstrated in training the qualities of a top class keeper. He is an excellent shot shot stopper with a passion for organising the defence and initiating play from the back.
Striker Layton Campbell (pictured) arrives at Hillheads with a strong academy background, having been at Newcastle United, Sunderland and Blackpool. He is a quick, direct striker with a natural eye for goal. He is the son of John Campbell who was a prolific goalscorer, most notably at West Auckland.
We are delighted to welcome both players to Whitley Bay and we hope they have a successful time at Hillheads.
