There was frustration all round last night when our Newcastle Flooring Company Northumberland Senior Cup Quarter Final against North Shields was called off at 6pm.
Torrential rain during the afternoon had left lying water in the bottom goalmouth when the match referee inspected the pitch at 6pm, but within half an hour the rain cleared and the puddles had drained away by the scheduled kick off time.
This was the third time the game has been postponed and the clubs will now need to find another date to fit in this fixture.
The winners will travel to Newcastle Benfield in the semi final. Heaton Stannington are scheduled to face Newcastle University in the other semi final on 15th April with the Final at St James' Park on a date to be confirmed.
