The points were shared in the local derby against North Shields at Hillheads as for the third time in a week, Whitley earned a point with a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Alex Kempster was the hero on this occasion, levelling the score in the 89th minute. Earlier, Adam Shanks had claimed the final touch after a Shields defender had deflected the ball beyond former Bay keeper Kyle Hayes after just 12 minutes.
The Robins came back strongly in the second half, sub Ryan Carr twice heading home from Lee Mason free kicks but Whitley exerted pressure and deservedly equalised to preserve their unbeaten league record.
